consulting -litigation accounting

Litigation Accountants are dedicated to strengthening the profession of litigation support, accounting, and valuation.

The professional accountant can assume a number of roles, each of which has its own unique characteristics, in assisting with the resolution of a dispute.

Examples of the role of the accountant might assume:

Expert Valuator

Serving as an expert involves the preparation of an independent and objective valuation opinion, estimate, comment, or critique for one of the parties to the dispute and appearing in court to present those findings.

Financial Consultant

In the event a valuation analysis has already been prepared by the other side to the dispute, it is often cost effective to engage the Litigation Accountant as a consultant to assist in the identification of negotiation points on issues requiring judgement.

Mediator/Arbitrator

The Litigation Accountant possesses the education and experience for the effective collection and analysis of the information necessary to serve as an arbitrator of disputes. Members of the Arbitration and Mediation Societies across Canada are dedicated to the resolution of disputes of all kinds through the use of mediation, arbitration, and other voluntary methods.
