REVIEW: A review engagement assures that financial statements are not misleading and conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

In cases where audited financial statements are not required or shareholders have waived the appointment of an auditor, review engagements are used to produce needed levels of assurance for users of financial statement information. This is most common when businesses are approaching financial institutions for financing. Unlike an audit, the review process does not involve a study or evaluation of internal controls. Rather, the objective of a review is to determine whether the financial statements are plausible and worthy of belief.

In performing a review, we analyze how your organization operates in order to make assessments of the information provided. Through an investigative process, we examine the nature of assets and liabilities, accounting matters peculiar to your business and industry, sources of revenues and expenses and other matters that could have a significant effect on the information reported by the organization. The review process involves discussion with responsible client officials and analytical enquiry. On completion, we prepare a standard accountants report expressing the degree of assurance for the financial statements.

Clients find value in the depth of our industry knowledge and our ability to look beyond the numbers to provide you with information to help you make critical business decisions.
